E + A Intended Parents Ready to Match

Dear Potential Surrogate,

My name is E, and together with my husband, A, are eager to share a glimpse of our lives in the hopes of connecting with someone who can assist us in bringing a sibling dream to life for our precious daughter.

I was born and raised in Venezuela, in a close-knit Italian immigrant family. At 14, I received a diagnosis of Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser (MRKH), learning that my uterus hadn’t developed as it should, meaning I couldn’t carry my children. Though devastating then, with family far on the horizon, I poured my focus into education and passions. I completed medical school in Venezuela, fueled by a profound interest in the wonder of life itself. This path guided me to specialize in obstetrics, where I now experience the magic of birth daily and feel immense gratitude in helping other families navigate their paths to parenthood.

As I transitioned to advanced training in the United States, I met A, my wonderful husband, born in Ukraine, who immigrated to the U.S. as a child with his family. He built his career in healthcare, and side by side, we’ve navigated every milestone—residencies, relocations, moves, and the delight of establishing our home. We both grew up in families where siblings were central to our lives, forging bonds we hold dear—and that’s the gift we long to give our daughter as well.

Our family took shape first with our cherished furry babies: currently, our three cats—Theodora, Fiona, and Angus—who bring endless purrs, cuddles, and joy to our home. Once we were ready, with solid careers, finances, and a welcoming home in place, we pursued IVF and the profound blessing of gestational surrogacy. In Winter 2023, thanks to an exceptional gestational carrier, we welcomed our daughter. Seeing her thrive has realized a dream I once thought unattainable post-diagnosis. Now a spirited toddler with an infectious laugh, she adores story time, park adventures, and cuddling with her cat siblings. Each moment is a miracle, and my obstetrics work only heightens my reverence for the journey that made her ours.

We stay connected with our first gestational carrier, sharing updates, photos—it’s a treasured friendship. With one frozen embryo and an IVF cycle planned soon, we’re thrilled to pursue a sibling (or more) for our daughter.

For hobbies and life rhythms, we savor simple joys together. Weekends often involve cooking or recreating family recipes (mushroom nights are a standout favorite for our daughter at this time!), or cozy Netflix marathons as our indulgent escape. A loves diving into computer projects, while I recharge with reading, audiobooks, painting or knitting.

In this journey, we envision an organic, authentic relationship rooted in trust, open dialogue and respect. Regular check-ins via text, calls, or video would allow us to share the thrill and offer mutual support. Attending the delivery would be deeply special, letting us share that transformative moment. Long-term, we hope for a flexible friendship—exchanging life milestones and updates, perhaps visits if natural. Ultimately, we hope for a healthy journey and aim for a supportive, uplifting experience that celebrates the extraordinary gift you’re contemplating.

Parenthood is our life’s deepest honor, overflowing with love and thanks. Words fall short, but we know we’re profoundly appreciative of those enabling families like ours. We write this letter with hearts full of hope and gratitude as we embark on the next chapter of our family-building journey. If our tale touches you, we’d cherish linking stories with yours.

Warmest wishes,

E and A
