Dear Potential Surrogate,
First, we want to start by saying thank you for being willing to help people fulfill their dreams of becoming parents. It’s the greatest gift in the world, and you’re providing people with an opportunity they otherwise wouldn’t have.
Next, a little about us. My name is D. I am the youngest granddaughter, niece, daughter and cousin of a very large loving family. Coming from a large family is the reason I’ve always dreamed of having a family of my own.
My friends would say I’m relentlessly optimistic, a lover of people, learning new cultures, and making things with my hands. If we match, I’d be happy to show you some of my paintings, woodwork, and interior designs. Another passion of mine is yoga and in 2018 I became a certified yoga teacher. I now teach a free weekly outdoor yoga class every Saturday.
K is the oldest of two children, and comes from a very supportive family. He grew up immersed in sports, which is ultimately what brought him to where we are now from his hometown on a soccer scholarship. Nowadays he loves to competing in 10K races, cooking, writing and performing poetry. He is a physician who is passionate about providing his patients with the best care. His relationship with his Dad is one of his closest. The way his parents poured their lives into him and his sister has deeply inspired him to become a father, which he believes will be his most important role to play yet.
K and I met in 2019, 6 months before the world shut down from COVID. For our first date, what was supposed to be a simple dinner, ended 8.5 hours later with both of us knowing deep down we had found someone truly special. Since then, we’ve traveled to numerous countries, bought our first home, and moved to a brand new city together.
We got married in 2021 and immediately started trying to grow our family. After a year of no success, we learned that I had fibroids preventing me from becoming pregnant. I then had a laparoscopic myomectomy to remove them, but during that procedure, the doctor perforated my uterus and small intestine, causing the need for an emergency procedure. What was intended to be a 30 minute outpatient procedure, resulted in a 6 week recovery and blocked fallopian tubes from scar tissue. After the surgery, IVF was the only option to grow our family. However, that came with more obstacles. After 4 failed embryo transfers of genetically tested embryos, we accepted the fact I wouldn’t be able to carry a baby myself. Becoming parents is something we’ve both dreamed about, and while this journey hasn’t been easy, knowing that it could become a reality keeps us going. It would be our greatest blessing to pour into a child, just as our families have poured into us. This child will come into the world with countless family and friends waiting to love and support them throughout their life.
We know this decision is an important one, so we thank you so much for your consideration to help us fulfill our dreams of becoming parents. We’d love to stay in touch with you, as much as you’re comfortable, so we can share milestones. After all, you’re the reason this is even possible. Thank you for reading and your consideration.
With Love,
D + K
